After School program:

Blossom Group Florida , through our 'Blossom Youth Club', is offering a holistic and innovative afterschool service to high school students from Westland Hialeah Senior High School and Miami Sunset Senior High School. Activities include; Graduation Support, Social Emotional wellness, Mindfulness, Visual Arts, Digital Photography, Career Exploration, Job Readiness, and Homework Assistance.

The students of our sites will be exposed to opportunities that, without this program, they would not have been able to attend. The program will provide the needed tools for high schoolers to ensure successful graduation and clearly guided steps for life after high school.

Blossom Youth Club is generously funded by The Children’s Trust. The Children’s Trust is a dedicated source of revenue established by voter referendum to improve the lives of children and families in Miami-Dade County.

Blossom Group® Holistic Approach consists of:

1. Individual counseling

Through individual counseling clients will receive support and experience growth during challenging times in their life.
Evidence-based counseling allows clients to explore their feelings, beliefs, and behaviors, work through challenging or influential memories, identify aspects of their lives that they would like to change, better understand themselves and others, set personal goals, and work toward desired change. Our Mental Health professionals will conduct individual counseling sessions in a safe, caring, and confidential environment.

2. Group Counseling

Counseling in a group setting can help clients feel less alone. It connects people who are going through similar struggles, creating an environment of social support and encouragement. We can provide group counseling that focuses on specific topics or problems or groups that address multiple concerns. In a group setting, clients can:

· Increase self-awareness by learning more about how others perceive them
· Feel a sense of acceptance and belonging
· Discover that they are not alone in the difficulties they are experiencing
· Hear ideas from others that will improve their decision-making and problem-solving skills
· Benefit from the experience of being helpful to others
· Learn to express their feelings and ideas to others constructively
· Gain encouragement by observing others’ successes

3. Family Counseling

Family therapy reduces distress and conflict by improving the systems of interactions between family members. What distinguishes family therapy from individual counseling is its perspective or framework, not how many people are present at the therapy session, therefore to provide family counseling it is not necessary to have all family members participate. This type of counseling views problems as patterns or systems that need adjusting, as opposed to viewing problems as residing in the person alone. “Family” is defined as anyone who plays a long-term supportive role in the client’s life, which may not mean blood relations or family members in the same household.

Family relationships are viewed as important for good mental health, regardless of whether all family members are participating in the therapy. Family therapy would be provided to clients who need help adjusting to an immediate family member struggling with an addiction, medical issue, or mental health diagnosis. It will also be provided to families who may need to improve communication and reduce conflict.

Our team

In order to provide a great service, Blossom Group® hires a diverse workforce that reflects the client's population. Our Staff understands the different cultural beliefs and values families possess. They are trained to have extensive knowledge and skills, the ability to access community resources, and years of experience working with low-income families living in high-risk areas.
